This is an introductory study of the Hebrew language, which was the original language of the Old Testament writers. Much attention will be given to identifying the Hebrew characters, using biblical Hebrew-language tools, and gaining elementary translating skills. The instructor, Dr. Denny Petrillo, seeks to give the student a workable knowledge of the Hebrew grammar, to acquaint the student with vocabulary most often used in the Hebrew Old Testament, to teach the student about the Hebrew tools available for research, and to bring the student far enough to do some translating from the Hebrew Scriptures.
