It is commonly believed that in the near future Christ will secretly come to call away his followers to heaven, while the rest of the world will be “left behind.” Jesus' coming and the end times will be preceded by various signs and events. Jesus will then setup an earthly kingdom, reign for one thousand years, and be involved in the battle of Armageddon. This doctrine is known as Premillennialism.
